This is not the best photo. The original, old photo was owned by my great grandmother, Rose (Chandler) Eaton. When Rose died in 1962, her son (Irving Eaton) inherited this original, old photo. When Irving Eaton died in 1997, the photo went to one of his children. I do not know which child. I'd love to get a good copy from the original, old photo. In the meantime, this is what I have. A cousin (Dolores Malchow) took a photo of the orignal, old photo and thus got a negative...from the negative I made this copy. I saw my great grandmother, Rose Eaton, about 2 times in my life before she died in 1962. She lived in Everett, Washington and I lived in Oregon and travel wasn't frequent due to expenses. She had this original, old photo hanging on her wall (about 5x7 behind glass). She told me this was her father in his Civil War uniform. She was so proud of this. Also, another photo hung beside him of the same size showing his brother, Albert Howard Chandler in his Civil War Uniform too. Both photos were in color! I find it IMPORTANT to give the "history" of how I acquired these photos.

William Chandler looks in his early 20s here to me. I would say this old photo taken before he even was married in 1865. This old photo might have been taken even before he went into the Civil War in 1861. The original old, tin-type photo in possession of Virginia Chambers-Horton. From the tin-type photo, a PROFESSIONAL NEGATIVE was made and copies made from the negative.

This is an small OLD, TIN-TYPE PHOTO in the possession of Virginia Chambers-Horton. This old photo has an ornate, metal frame around it.
